Ani Chöying Drolma

Ani Chöying Drolma is an educator, a Buddhist nun and a mesmerizing singer with a compelling personal story from the Nagi Gompa nunnery in Nepal. She is known throughout the world for bringing many Tibetan Buddhist chants to mainstream audiences. With her two highly acclaimed collaborative albums titled “Selwa” and “Cho,” recorded with guitarist Steve Tibbetts from Minnesota and Tibbetts’ long-time rhythm collaborator, Marc Anderson, Ms. Drolma has created an international stir by pairing Tibetan Buddhist chants with atmospheric soundscapes of guitar and percussion.This music is characterized by a deeply felt sonic environment built around and in response to an ancient practice of visualization and meditation.
